Manufacturer Description:
The Kid'Sleep has many benefits, as a night light, wake-up indicator for young children and an alarm clock for older children. It helps young children have an understanding of when it is time to get out of bed and when it is not. It is a great tool for nighttime self regulation, and the result is that both parents and children get more sleep. The Kid'Sleep Classic helps kids stay in bed until it is time to get up. If the sleeping bunny's picture is lit, kids know to stay in bed. When the awake bunny is illuminated, it is okay to get out of bed and start the day. The Kid'Sleep Classic has dual nighttime/naptime settings and an optional alarm (which is a very sweet bird chirping sound followed by a rooster crowing), in addition to three levels of brightness. The Kid'Sleep Classic comes in blue (bunny) or pink (cow). The Kid'Sleep products do not require kids to have color recognition. They naturally relate to the sleeping or awake animal. Read more

I must have spent six hours reading reviews of assorted toddler clocks, and frankly they all sounded like overpriced junk, including this one. Ultimately, I went with this one because the overwhelming majority of people seemed to have the desired result...keep your kid in bed.
First off it is much bigger than I expected. Oh my goodness, the size of a small dinner platter. I was not expecting that for some reason. I totally missed that the green one was travel size and this one was much larger.
I agree with other reviewers that the design is pretty lame. While setting it, you can't hold the button down to increase or decrease the time...you have to "click, click, click" all the way through. My Timex Ironman sportswatch is easier to set than this thing. That is irritating but not a deterrent. I reset it almost daily for my son's nap and it's no big deal, takes one minute. In regards to the fact that kids can jack with it, we simply put it high on a bookshelf and our son has never touched it or unplugged it.
For our son, it's...sort of...working? I guess? He is currently in a crib with a crib tent so he can't escape. We got it both for training for the future toddler bed, and for now because he often calls out before 6am and wakes us up and sometimes baby sister next door. Unfortunately, most mornings he still calls out and we have to go in and say "bunny is still sleeping!". He seems to accept this, but what good is it if he still wakes us early and we have to go in there? My dreams of setting it later and later by 10 minute increments to get his waketime later do not seem realistic. I have an early bird. Perhaps when he is older it will help keep him in his room until bunny wakes up, at least buying us some extra sleep.
I do find it useful for naptime. Most times if he wakes early he will call out (same as the morning) but at least I can ask him to stay in his crib for 2 total hours and not get much complaint.
All in all, probably perfect for fairly compliant kids. For more spirited kids, it may not change your life much. The lame design would be easily overcome if it worked for your family so don't let that stop you!

This "clock" works like a charm for our daughter. We bought it for her when she was 2 1/2 years old. She understood the concept right away. She is now 4 1/2 and still uses it. When she wakes up before her "bunny is running", she just lays in her bed until her bunny wakes up. Most of the time now she sleeps until after her bunny wakes up anyway. I love that the transition from night to day is silent, so it doesn't wake her. We used to use a nightlight on a timer to tell her when it was day, but that made a clicking noise when it went off that would wake her up if she happened to still be sleeping then. This clock has been great for us. Her little sister, who is 22 months old, is asking for her own clock now. We will be buying a second one. The programming is not difficult, as the other reviewers claim. Yes, you have to reset it when the power goes out or you unplug it, but that takes all of 1 minute. GREAT PRODUCT!

This product has allowed for some very clear expectations in our home. I bought it when we transitioned our son to a big boy bed just as he turned 2. I thought it would be difficult for him to follow at first, and the product is marketed as age 3 and above, but it only took 2 days for him to understand that he stays in bed until the bunny wakes up. Soon he was playing in bed in the morning for a few minutes, watching his clock, then running to our room, "Mommy! The bunny woke'd up! The bunny's awake!" This bunny is in charge in our home, and I'm in charge of the bunny. The clock is not easy to set, however, and it is worth contacting the company to ask for directions. They will email you a scanned copy of instructions that do not come with the product. While it's relatively cheaply made and a bit overpriced, it has been worth the money to us.

Our 3 year old goes through many periods where she wakes up way too early (try 4:30 or 5:00 a.m.) We tried everything from incentives to bribes and even punishment (which totally backfired if you are considering it at 4:30 a.m.) nothing we could say would make her believe that it was not time to wake up. Honestly, our only saving grace was that she was still in the crib.
She turned 3 in Sept, and we moved her to a big girl bed with the condition that if she wakes up early she can only come and get us if the animal on the clock is awake. At first she didn't know what to do with herself so we had to "set up" play for her at 5:30 a.m. Then slowly she got it, and now she wakes up sees the Hippo isn't dancing and goes back to sleep. In the 4 months that we have owned this...we finally have peace and sleep. She *loves* that she is empowered with the answers and it doesn't come from us.
In turn she is getting some more sleep, a little bit of independence, and better more well rested parents.
Thank you for this wonderful clock!!!

When I bought this, I was at my wit's end with my two year old that was up by 5 every morning. The first week, I talked up the bunny big time and set the alarm for 6. The first night or two were rough, but STICK WITH IT!! By night three, he understood that I wasn't coming back into his room until the bunny was awake. Make sure, even if it's only 5 minutes, that they aren't allowed up until the bunny wakes up. Once he started sleeping until 6, I starting moving the clock up in 15 minute increments. I now have a 2 year old that sleeps until 7 and has started asking for me to turn on his bunny clock during naptime too. Definitely recommend this product! I liked this one because it's silent, so if he ever sleeps past his "alarm", it won't wake him up. I had no problem programming it at all. It does need to be plugged in (there's no battery option) but for me, that wasn't an issue.

I am really amused by the fact that so many people share difficulty to program this clock!!! I was prepared for a big struggle after reading the reviews, but for my dismay it is actually extremely easy!!! People, please read the "vague" directions - they are more than you will ever need! To the reviewer who cannot figure out how to put bunny to sleep. You can program 2 times for the bunny to wake up - one for a nap and one for the morning. When you want the bunny to go back to sleep you have to just turn the button which switches between the functions all the way to the left /position zero/ and then bring it back to the position where there is a little sun and a little moon, when you want to use it again.
In my opinion the kid's sleep classic works like a charm and is very cute! I highly recommend it!

We got this clock when our daughter was 3. She loved everything about it and so do we. We did not find it difficult to program and it is working great for us. It makes it clear to my daughter if it is time to get out of bed in the morning. Which is great since she used to get out of bed way before 6 am and want to play. Now she knows that if the clock is not "awake" it is not time for her to get out of bed.

We purchased this sleep trainer clock after transitioning our 2 year old (he just turned 2 in late December, so it does work for little ones, too!) to a "big boy bed". Once we transitioned, he went from sleeping until at least 7:00 a.m., to getting up 2 times per night, and waking up for the day at around 5:45 a.m. We bought this item hoping that we could get him to sleep later in the mornings. The first couple days, he paid no attention to whether or not the bunny on the clock was sleeping or awake, despite our efforts to direct his attention to it. But we soon found out that it was operator error (Mom and Dad). We made the mistake of setting the clock to a time that WE wanted him to get up, as opposed to setting it first, for the time that he usually woke up, then gradually setting it back later each day. Once our son realized that the bunny would actually wake up, he became very excited. We made a huge deal about him staying in bed until the bunny woke up, and he beamed, so proud of himself for getting up when the bunny got up. We left it at his normal wake up time (about 6:00 a.m.) for 3 week days (since we were up anyway, getting ready for work), then set it back on the weekend (when we actually wanted him to sleep later)to 7:00. It has worked beautifully. He has not gotten up before 7:00 since (and also is not getting up in the middle of the night), and he LOVES seeing the bunny wake up. The key is to let them be successful first, then gradually change the time. This has been a great purchase.

We've been using "the bunny", as we call it, for 3 months. Initially I was very frustrated and disappointed when it arrived, but am very happy with it over the long term. I just wish it had batteries. If I were to buy again, I'd get the sheep version.
Pros: very effective as an indicator of sleep/wake time. My 2-year old had no trouble understanding the idea.
Cons: no battery. all settings reset when the bunny us unplugged
Initial setup does take some time. About 20 minutes. Not because the instructions are hard to understand, but the settings take a bit of time to get right.
The first thing my son did was run over and press the buttons, and then pull it to take it with him and unplug it from the wall. So initially it looked like this might not work for a child that loves buttons. This only lasted a short time however. The buttons don't result in any interactivity, so my son now ignores them and knows to leave the bunny on the table.
The success of the bunny as an indicator of when to wake up will depend on how consistent the parents are with allowing the child to get out of bed when the bunny is still asleep. We had some time when our son was sick and we stopped paying attention to this, and over the next few weeks he again started to wake up early. Since then we've started over... the first time, I went into his room and stayed with him in bed until we watched the bunny change, and then we got up. The next day when he called me I reminded him about the bunny a couple of times. On the fourth day our son called me exactly at the set time, from which I gather that he'd been watching it quietly.
The best things about this model:
- you don't have to manually turn on the "sleep" mode. I like that the bunny sleeps/wakes automatically at the set times.
- it's silent
- it's an extra night light
Problems:
- no battery, so if you need to move it, you set all the settings again.
- not bright enough for nap-time use. It's almost impossible to tell whether the bunny is sleeping or awake if the room is relatively bright. This might also come up as a problem for summer mornings, we haven't gotten there yet.

It works, but I'm disappointed by the poor design.
PROs:
- Effective (once you teach your child that he/she needs to sleep while the bunny sleeps, it works well)
- 3 brightness levels
- Audible alarm (although I don't use it)
- Colorful bunny image
CONs:
- No battery backup (every time the power interrupted, you need to reprogram the whole thing)
- Tiny LCD screen is very difficult to read (especially when the room isn't well lit, as in right before you put the kids to sleep)
- Setup is confusing (it's hard to know if you're setting up the time or the alarm)
- Holding down a button while adjusting time doesn't continue to adjust the time; you need to click, click, click, click, click all the way through
- Removable image plate comes off way too easily; it needs to be taped in place so your kids don't remove it
For the price, I would have expected a lot better of a product.
